Liam McHugh-Russell grew up in Mimico and understands the issues dear to Etobicoke Lakeshore communities.
Liam received his law degree (Juris Doctor, J.D.) at the University of Toronto, where he advocated for low income clients in discrimination cases and advocated for the rights of new Canadians and refugees. His studies in law and political science, both in Ontario and in Hungary, focused on foreign affairs and trade, human rights and migration issues. He is currently completing his qualifications to be a lawyer while fighting for workers’ rights with an employment and labour law firm in Toronto.
Before his legal career, Liam worked with students at the University of Waterloo, becoming an experienced advocate at Queen’s Park and on Parliament Hill campaigning for affordable college and university education, and for strong investment in education and training. He has work experience in banking, technology, economic consulting and teaching. He also holds a degree in mathematics.
Liam McHugh-Russell is not just a New Democrat, but a committed democrat. He wants Etobicoke Lakeshore residents to vote for a candidate who will be a strong voice for this community.
